Accommodation close to Nunobiki Falls:
There is no camping around Ichinoi Weir. There are several hotels on either side of the river, including between the falls and the other main attraction in the area,
the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. Arashiyama is about a 30 minute train trip from central Kyoto, and would be a suitable base for exploring the bamboo forest, parks,
temples and other attractions in the Arashiyama district.
On the northern bank there is the traditional Japanese ryokan
Rangetsu,
which has its own indoor and outdoor public hot baths, or
Suiran,
which has some rooms with a view of the river.
Yado Arashiyama on
the southern side of the river is further from the main shopping area of Arashiyama, but closer to the Monkey Park.

Where did I stay?
I did not stay in Arashiyama, but instead stayed in central Kyoto and did a day trip to Arashiyama. In Kyoto I stayed at
Kyoto Hana Hotel
(as a paying guest). The service was outstanding, with staff managing to produce a machine that dries two shoes at once, for example (who knew such a thing even existed!).
The location was within walking distance of the Gion geisha district, and our room was clean and comfortable, albeit with limited space.
Local Guides for Ichinoi Weir
If you are looking for a local guide to help you navigate your way to Ichinoi Weir and other attractions around Arashiyama, you can try a
private walking tour with an English speaking guide. I am not personally familiar with this tour operator linked above, but notice that their tour includes the bamboo forest, the historic Togetsu-kyo Bridge immediately downstream of
the weir, and the Monkey Park on the other side of the Katsura River, so it was a tour that would involve walking past Ichinoi Weir.
