Only partially visible from the viewing area, Zillie Falls is a quick stop to see and hear the flow of water before it disappears out of sight below.

This waterfall was my least favourite of the three waterfalls along Theresa Creek Road, because you cannot see the face of the waterfall from the
viewing area.
However, despite this, it is still worth visiting because the viewing area is quite close to the river, but it is for the most part more of an auditory experience
rather than a visual one. The falls can be quite loud when the river is flowing well, and you do get a good sense of the speed of the water as it heads towards the
edge of the precipice.

The track to the falls is only a few minutes walk, but do not wear your best shoes, particularly after rainfall, when the rich, red volcanic soil clings to the
underside of your boots.
When I visited on a day with steady rainfall, there were large puddles filled with orange-coloured water in parts of the viewing area, that were difficult to walk around.

Apparently you can walk to the base of the falls, but in wet weather the steep climb down along a poorly defined track did not appeal to me. There were no sign
posts indicating a formal track. There are also no picnic areas or facilities here, apart from the car park.

Getting there: From Atherton head south along route 25 (Atherton-Malanda Road then Millaa Millaa-Malanda Road) to Millaa Millaa. 1 km past Millaa Millaa, head

Zillie Falls is roughly equidistant from town along both routes. The car park is on the opposite side of the road to the falls, with a short (50 metre) walk to the falls.
Alternatively from the coast at Innisfail, head inland along the Palmerston Hwy (route 25) until reaching Theresa Creek Road, then follow the instructions above.
